Tom Dixon

Tom Dixon is a English design and manufacturing company of lighting and furniture. With a commitment to innovation and a mission to revive the British interior design industry, the brand is inspired by the nation’s unique heritage.

Tom is a restless innovator who works mainly in lighting, accessories and furniture. From his departure point in the early eighties welding salvaged steel into radical furniture, he has constantly recreated himself through a series of different design careers – working with luxurious Italian goods with Cappellini, Creative Director at Habitat and Artek, creating Plastics company Eurolounge and finally instigating his own eponymic label during 2002 so as to rethink the product designer’s relationship with the industry.

15 years on, Tom Dixon is now a widely celebrated global force in interior design with our own hubs in New York, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles and Tokyo. Their 700 products range from lighting to furniture, from tableware through to fragrances and are distributed in over 70 countries; they are instantly recognisable for their sculptural qualities and engineered materiality.
“A redefinition of what we need to possess, and why, is currently in progress. We must invest in products that have inherent honesty and an anti-fashion longevity.”
– Tom Dixon.

Tom Dixon designs and produces famous pieces such as the Micro Wingback, the Melt pendants, the Bell table lamp, the Fan chair and the Slab chair.
