    Hoof Table SW2

Samuel Wilkinson’s Hoof table was mainly inspired by feet sharpened at the ends which create striking yet functional images. The term hoof comes from the defensive portion of ungulate animals ‘ feet. Unlike other tables, the leg ends of Hoof are kept in natural wood so that the paint can not be tamed or knocked during cleaning. By reversing the normal production cycle, the foot details are produced. The majority of furniture with a painted portion and a natural component is mounted, masked and painted initially. Hoof is first painted and then removed to expose the natural straw.

A simplicity of form is stunning, graphic and poetic, showing that the plain is elaborate. The original impetus for Lato was first backslidden by the concept of the lollipop. Most people know from childhood a traditional form of a candy. But how do you make a table with lollipop? “I was surrounded by creativity on an island like Murano,” Nichetto explains. The artisans, who I saw transform the abstract concepts in concrete reality, have immense knowledge and love of materials. with Lato, I decided to keep the simplicity and standardize it into a timeless side table in a design that could easily be the subject of attention.’s appreciate this amazing example of a side table sculpture that’s and vice versa.
