Improvisacion Tapestry Rug

The Improvisacion Tapestry Rug by Nanimarquina is inspired by jazz music. It represents the spontaneity of weaving, where the weft symbolises the melody and the warp represents the improvised solos. The tapestry is a combination of colours and rhythms that comes alive as the codes create new forms. The designer, Gian Padilla, pays tribute to the ancient art of weaving, where women used to weave without any intention of representation or script. They experimented with innate sensitivity and created spontaneous pieces that were unique and beautiful.
