Confronted with the challenge of blank paper, on designer rugs, some writers catch the very essence. Each of these four unique designs is created by a graphic and industrial designer, a painter, a fashion designer, and a writer and art gallery owner, in which four very personal interpretations of the rug as a contemporary object are made visible. Everyone has something in common: preferring the absence of monochrome colour, black and white, to reinforce their identity. A dichotomy for that matter. A canvas which is horizontal. An underfoot piece of art.
