The central idea behind the Alcove Sofa is that a sofa can be much more than just a piece of furniture. This is especially true of the Alcove Highback Sofa, whose side and back panels reach an exceptional height. When someone sits down on the Alcove Highback, they find themselves in a secluded space. Thanks to the outstanding acoustic qualities of the Alcove Highback Sofa and its function as a visual screen, it creates a peaceful oasis especially in spacious living areas. This effect is even more pronounced when two sofas are positioned face to face, thereby defining a room within a room.
With its unusually soft seat and backrest upholstery, as well as the high, flexible side and back panels, Alcove Sofa creates the frame for such a comfy, safe and secure world, a place for relaxed withdrawal from the hustle and bustle of life: Two people can stretch out and sit opposite each other, leaning leisurely back against the side walls, and if required the sofa also provides sufficient space for a third person. Alcove Sofa combines the contrasting qualities of a comfortable secluded relaxation area with an open invitation to enter and sit down.

There is evidence to suggest that the first silk fabrics were produced around 3000 B.C. in ancient China. Coming from silkworms, silk is extraordinarily resistant and it is considered to be the longest filament produced by nature. Its structure reflects light at different angles, giving it a natural glow that, together with its soft and smooth texture, makes the carpets unique for their brightness and vivid colour.
Designed to be spacious and expansive, Italian-born, Swedish-based designer Luca Nichetto wanted to minimise anything voluminous and accentuate the look and feel of lightness. Seen in this new version of Cloud Sofas with a high back.
The secret to Cloud’s truly hygge sensation involves feather and foamfilled seat cushions resting on an upholstered solid wood base. Slim steel legs keep the base “afloat”, with a special coating in black, chrome or bronzed. The cushions along the back are secured in place with a curved shell that extends quite high above your back, constructed from foamwrapped plywood covered in the same textile to match the cushions.
The daybed has a wooden frame and a polyurethane mattress. The top mattress, back and arm cushions are made of polyurethane foam and are available in a wide range of leathers, fabrics and colours. The cylinder legs are in solid aluminium and the back bracket is in satin chrome.
The artwork of Eduardo Chillida (1924-2002) represents one of the greatest artistic accomplishments of the late 20th century. To pay homage to the artist, the Chillida collection was created based on a chronological selection of his work: Figura Humana – 1948, Dibujo Tinta – 1957, and Collage – 1966, pieces that reflect the gestation process of his renown sculpture: Peine del Viento located in San Sebastii¤n. The collection also includes two depictions of his famous hands: Mano and Manos from the 90s, and Gravitacii_n from 1993 and 1994. Chillida’s artistic nuances have been faithfully translated into rugs, all handmade using various techniques and fibres, such as wool, silk, and hand-spun mohair, to create different textures, showcasing the essence of his work.

Mayor shows a moderation of modernism and a unique regional adaptation: the frame is made of solid oak, the upholstery is tight but with three loose cushions that comprise the seating area, and there is generally a more human approach to modernism with a focus on livability. The sofa is made of high quality materials. The tight upholstery and the two rows of elegant buttons that extend over the armrests and back give the sofa a simple and stylish look. Thus the sofa fits perfectly into both modern homes and workplaces, where quality and design are important parameters.
