1967 Pendant
Famously recognised as ‘the individual who brought brilliance to Finland,’ the iconic designer and skilled metalworker, Paavo Tynell, stands out as one of the foremost figures in 20th-century industrial design. Showcasing Tynell’s timeless style from the 1950s, the 1967 pendant lamp builds upon the design principles initially formulated in 1948 for the 1965 pendant. The distinguishing feature of the 1967 design is its cone-shaped canvas shade, which emanates a comforting, soft illumination. Tynell’s trademark brass elements further enhance the lamp with an understated touch of luxury. Positioned beneath the light bulb, a fabric diffuser harmonises the light output, while a decorative brass embellishment beneath adds a touch of personality to each lamp, subtly influencing the interplay of the resulting illumination.
