1965 Pendant
In 1948, Paavo Tynell designed the 1965 Pendant. Like many of his best-known designs, this pendant has been designed for the Finland House in New York — one of Finnish design’s most ambitious and successful projects ever.
Tynell created the 1965 Pendant with his remarkable ability to catch and translate grace and exuberant lightness into his brass works, perfecting the techniques of metal finish. The 1965 Pendant represents the distinguished craftsmanship of the Finnish designer, distinguished by its triangular perforation pattern, an artistic feature used by Tynell in many of his lighting posts. The pendant contributes to a subtle and calm atmosphere with a frozen glass diffuser which softens the light.
