Introducing: Parachilna
At Crema, we are proud to have introduced a multitude of internationally acclaimed design brands to a South Africa audience. Over the years, we have connected our clients to some of the world’s finest producers of luxury lighting, furniture and accessories. Now continuing on this mission, we are ecstatic to announce the latest addition to our curated selection, PARACHILNA.
Parachilna are a Spanish lighting brand with a flair for enviable lighting designs and a touch of ironic humour – a perfect fit really. Named after a one-horse desert town 500kms from Adelaide, Australia, the story of their brand is one of hope, luxury and the unknown. Read more about their history and identity here.
Parachilna’s catalogue contains a wide variety of different visual styles, which is testament to their dedication to working with designers from every corner of the globe. Despite being a relatively new design studio, Parachilna have already made a splash not just with their own eye-catching and sleek lighting designs, but with their impressive roster of collaborations; including Jordi Veciana, Jaime Hayon, Neri & Hu and Stephen Burks. Each designer brings their own unique aesthetic to the brand.
Take a look at some of our favourite designs from their catalogue. All of the below are available for viewing in our showroom! Take a look at their entire range here, and learn about their custom lighting projects here.
- Aballs Collection
This family of lights includes three pendants, two table lamps, three ceiling lamps, three wall lamps and a chandelier. Designed by Jaime Hayon, these curvaceous lights are reminiscent of Art Decor organic silhouettes and utilize Venetian ceramics with glass and brass. We currently have the medium pendant in black and the small pendant in gold on display in our Woodstock showroom, but they are also available in a chrome or copper finish.
- Gweilo Collection
The Gweilo collection is fascinating, both in appearance and construction. With a name meaning ghost in Chinese, you can see the light but only guess the structure. Made using hand-molded acrylic, we’d suggest actually watching how it’s made to get an idea of what an achievement this light is. Available either as a smaller table lamp or a larger floor lamp, each Gweilo is completely unique. We have the Gweilo HAN on display in our showroom.
- Chinoz Table Lamp
The Choniz table lamp is another success from icon Jaime Hayon, this lamp encourages you to play with colour combinations. Available in a variety of finishes with either an opaque or translucent diffuser, Chinoz is a celebration of both Chinese lanterns and the vibrancy of Spanish design. We have the Chinoz in green with a white diffuser on display.
- Lightolight Collection
Confused by the naming? That’s intentional. The name of this family is as open to interpretation as the lights themselves, as each are available in a variety of colour combinations and have customizable directional cups as well. We have the P Floor Lamp in blue and gold on display in our showroom.
- Alistair Collection
The Alistair comes from the mind of Jordi Veclana, another Spanish designer. Formed using basic geometric shapes with smoothed edges and made using opal hand-blown glass, available in golden or matte graphite finish. The Alistair collection is just pure elegance. We have the M Table Lamp in gold on display in our Woodstock showroom.
