As in any creative industry, interior design trends come and go.
If you are redecorating your home, you may want to look ahead to the next trends, instead of decorating with what’s current, which could go out of style at any minute. A home that is both good looking, and reflects your knowledge of the zeitgeist, is our goal here. [read more]
Prior to studying Feng Shui during my Interior Design course, I was under the impression that the subject was based purely on ancient and outdated myths. However, after learning about the practice in depth, I understood that Feng Shui provides some very interesting insight into creating a healthy and harmonious environment.
This early Chinese system is based on ‘chi’ which can be described as the flow of energy through our homes. Chi can be achieved through placement of certain objects to create a peaceful atmosphere and ultimately enhance our lifestyles.
There is no need to completely redecorate to incorporate positive chi within your home. Instead, try some of the below practical, small changes to create a large impact. [read more]
It seems like sleep is something we all want more of, and while there aren’t any more hours in the day there are ways to improve the quality of the sleep we are getting. There were so many amazing new products released in Milan this year, trying to put them all into one newsletter the way we normally do is just impossible. So this year we are going to showcase a handful from each of our brands, over the next couple of months.
Lee Broom is a brand that took some of the biggest strides this year. From starting the crystal Decanter Light craze a few years back with just a handful of pieces, Lee Broom as grown to offer an astoundingly gorgeous and refined collection of pieces. We especially love his lighting pieces which ooze class with a very cutting edge.
We will most certainly be ordering these new pieces for our new showroom.
&Tradition is a furniture and lighting brand that prides itself on the key Scandinavian design principles; “Craft meets art. Function meets form. Material meets potential.”
The brand holds quality to a high standard, manufacturing Danish classics from the 20s, 40s and 70s by design masters Arne Jacobsen and Vernon Panton. The &Tradition design team also includes icons of tomorrow such as Jaime Hayon and Space Copenhagen. Production methods challenge convention, rethinking material use and manufacturing techniques. Nature is respected as it provides raw materials that sustains the brand’s unique designs which are made to last.
Here at CRÉMA we never fail to be impressed by GUBI. These treasure hunters of furniture design have a very simple philosophy, “great design should have a story to tell and be able to blur the lines of time, and that a bit of courage and risk-taking can carry you far in the design world.”
This design philosophy has steered GUBI’s designs over a 50 year history acting as a marker of what it takes to create a brand that celebrates the luxury of living life.
We would like to introduce Bosa, the internationally known Venetian ceramics workshop, which has been creating completely handmade objects and pieces of furniture since 1976. Bosa creates functional objects and works of art and design in collaboration with designers and businesses. Bosa products are known for their exclusive colours and finishings, such as precious metals and enamels, the fruit of the company’s natural and constant propensity towards experimentation and research.
By now you are back from the beach ready for the year ahead. We thought we would start the year by introducing some lighting by Foscarini. One of Italy’s finest lighting manufacturers, Foscarini are treasure hunters who work with the best designers they can find – and then source the most skilled manufacturer for that particular material to deliver the very best product possible to you.
Foscarini focuses on developing new products but chooses to only put into production those that express new ideas. This is why Foscarini lamps are so innovative yet built to weather the whim of trends and become true classics.
Like you, we are a little design obsessed – we can never have enough. And with so many beautiful pieces to choose from, curating our showroom is a real challenge; something one tackles slowly but surely.
Below are some of the new pieces that have arrived over the last weeks. We have added more Tom Dixon and Foscarini lighting especially. Plus two lovely lounge chairs. [read more]
